
Masako Katsura was born in Tokyo Japan on January 8 1976. Her father Akira was a successful business man and her mother Junko was a homemaker. Masako was their only child.
Masako was a bright student and did well in school. She was also very active, and enjoyed playing sports. She was particularly interested in tennis and played on her school.
Masako enrolled at Tokyo University where she studied economics. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1998.
Masako began her career as a financial analyst at a Japanese bank. She worked there for several years before moving to a similar position at a British bank.
Masako met her future husband Crown Prince Naruhito, at a reception for Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and his wife Crown Princess Mary. The couple began dating shortly afterwards, and they announced their engagement in February of 2007.
Masako and Naruhito were married in a traditional Shinto ceremony at the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo on June 9 1993. Masako became Crown Princess Masako of Japan.
The couple have one child, Princess Aiko, who was born in December of 2001.

Masako Katsura was born on October 28 1967 in Tokyo Japan. Her father was a businessman and her mother was a housewife. She has one older sister. Katsura attended Seijo Elementary School and Seijo Junior High School. She then attended Seijo Senior High School where she was a member of the school’s softball team. After graduating from high school she enrolled in Meiji Gakuin University where she studied economics. She graduated from Meiji Gakuin University in 1990.
Katsura married Satoshi Tsunakawa a business man in 1995. The couple have two daughters.
