Hair oiling on weekends, spa appointments to get through a hectic day, or giving those regular blow-dries and styling sessions! Is something left that we have not done to keep our hair shiny and lustrous? However, one thing that proves to be the biggest nightmare for every girl is her split ends.
Everyone who loves their hair dreads those split ends growing on the tips because it means getting hair chopped. Only if there was any other way to permanently get rid of this unusual hair pattern that always grows back. We know that feeling when you had last got your hair chopped because those split ends grew till roots. To avoid this from happening again, you need to take better care of your hair and keep trimming your mane every 2-3 months.
Running to a salon now and then for a short trimming routine is certainly not fun especially when you are trying to grow your short hair. And that’s when we realized, that one needs to be equipped with the right skills to do it yourself. Doing it on your own brings the biggest perk of not compromising on your hair’s length. Say goodbye to the irregular hair strands with these easy-to-do steps.
An Easy Guide on How to Give Yourself a Trim At Home
Wet the Hair First
Let’s keep first thing first! Do you remember the hairstylist spraying water on your strands whenever you went for a haircut? This is exactly what you have to do while doing at-home hair trimming. You can either make your hair damp manually or use a spray bottle to wet your hair section-wise. To get your hair trimmed in a well-structured way, always begin with sprinkling water on the locks. Freshly washed hair works even better because not only the hair is slightly wet but also clean and free from oil or grease.
Detangle the Hair Knots followed by Center Parting
Moving further, the next step is brushing the hair to get rid of knots and tangles. For precise hair cutting without any mishap, always detangle the hair with a Hair Brush and divide them into different sections for seamless trimming. Entwined hair locks can be messy and often get unmanageable if not brushed regularly. And you can’t take this risk when it comes to haircuts. Hence, after getting rid of tangles, divide your hair into several parts and clip up all of them except the one you need to work on.
Comb the Hair Section and Start Trimming
Take one hair section at a time and use a fine teeth comb to get rid of frizz and knots. Next, take a Scissor for hair and hold them vertically and slowly cut the tips of the hair. Go little by little so that you don’t end up cutting the entire mane. Once you are done, bring the hair section in front of the face and see if they look equal in size or not. Unclip all the hair sections one by one and repeat the same process. At the end check for any leftover split ends and done!
Simply follow these steps carefully and cut your hair easily without having to step out of the home.
