Molle Vs Alice Pack

Alice Packs are what they call 3 day assault packs which was designed to hold enough supplies for 3 days. They usually had pouches that held 8 MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) and gave soldiers a way to carry their personal items in addition to their weapons, ammo, water and other survival necessities. The Alice pack was first designed by someone called Gregory Blackwelder after witnessing many U.S troops getting shot down behind enemy lines during Vietnam and not having enough food or water on them at all times like they were supposed to have.

Molle, otherwise known as Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, is a type of system developed by Pouch Attachment Ladder System or PALs. You can attach various types of pouches to your Molle webbing to hold items such as magazines and water bottles. Molle was designed for modular attachment of various accessories. It enables military personnel to carry many different items in a smaller amount of space compared to other systems. For example, instead of carrying several different bags on their back, soldiers only need one main bag that they can pack according to each mission they are undertaking. There are straps on many military bags that are built into Molle webbing allowing you to attach multiple pieces at once.

How to Use Molle System

Molle System (MOLLE – Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) was developed by Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center. It is used for different equipment and has a modular design so that various pouches can be attached to load carriage platform. The aim of Molle System was to provide an alternative to traditional systems of webbing or rigid panels. This became possible due to PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) which allows connecting various modular pouches as well as attachment of accessories like magazine holders, holsters, radio holders and others. The advantages of Molle System are its lightweight structure and free configuration: you can easily reconfigure your weapons platform depending on conditions on terrain or situation in combat.
